The team is currently working on the role and specificity of the KapD RNase involved in the sporulation process of&nbsp;<em>B. Subtilis<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c1b43989c51feca92686d229607499c1\"><strong>Fr\u00e9d\u00e9rique Braun (MCU, Univ. Paris Cit\u00e9)<\/strong>&nbsp;is also characterizing a new RNase (Rae1\/YacP) that associates with the ribosome to cleave its target mRNAs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-297e50cdc1451024d4577523b850d220\"><strong>Sylvain Durand (CR, CNRS)<\/strong>&nbsp;investigates how regulatory RNAs control the expression of these RNases. More recently, his work has also focused on the role of RNase J2 within the RNase J1\/J2 complex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3affb450269485dd16728caea721ae7f\">On the other hand,&nbsp;<strong>Val\u00e9rie Heurgu\u00e9-Hamard<\/strong>&nbsp;(<strong>DR2, CNRS<\/strong>) is interested in the methylation of the translational apparatus in the eukaryotic model organism&nbsp;<em>Saccharomyces cerevisiae<\/em>.
